The Colorado River is the economic and environmental lifeline for a vast area of the American West—but with reports of historically low water levels at Lake Mead, it is increasingly obvious that the current course of management is not sustainable.
According to the Bureau of Reclamation's recent study of the Colorado River Basin, annual water demand for Colorado River water already exceeds supply and, absent protective action, healthy flows are increasingly jeopardized over time.
Through collaboration and cooperation, we can improve river and stream health while providing economic gains for rural communities, cities, states, and taxpayers. We're all in this together.
