North Carolina's Drinking Water At Risk

Please enable images

North Carolina’s state legislature is taking aim at environmental protections yet again—and this time, they’re putting North Carolina’s water quality at risk. Not only will this proposal endanger fish and wildlife, but removing sensible water quality protections threatens the health of our families and children.

The problem lies deep in the state budget proposal that lawmakers are currently deliberating. The NC Senate approved several provisions which would block and eventually repeal policies to reduce water pollution in Jordan Lake, Falls Lake, the Randleman Reservoir, the Catawba River, and the Neuse and Tar-Pamlico river basins.

The final bill language could be decided any day. Tell your State Representative and the Speaker of the NC House to protect our rivers and streams and make sure our waters are safe before it’s too late.
